The SABC wants to launch its own streaming service to take on Netflix

SABC CEO Madoda Mxakwe has stated that the public broadcaster wants to migrate to digital broadcasting platforms and launch an over-the-top (OTT) streaming service to compete with international players like Netflix.

Mxakwe was speaking during an MMA Freedom Week event at the Goethe Institute in Johannesburg.

They are not going to take on the likes of NetFlix etc. But they have a niche to fill, but they should have been there already. Not that I watch anything from the SABC, but good luck to them, regardless.

Same as metered taxi's suddenly want to make their own app now.
How many years it takes for these idiots to wake up.
But it he culture of greed and selfishness... I want I want I want...
How many years did SABC have to catch a wake up?

Too little too late :)
