The scams that are catching out South Africans

Fraudsters and scammers have become increasingly creative in stealing people’s identities and money, with tricks that could fool even the most vigilant.

With the dawn of the digital age, the number of ways unsuspecting businesses and individuals can be tricked and robbed has grown.

However, there are still a few scams that are more common than others and cause the most problems.

Another favorite now that we have load shedding is solar energy systems.
Ask for a big deposit and don't deliver.
See https://hello-solar.co.za

TIP:
If you not sure use CoD or put the money in an escrow account / lawyers trust account until delivery.

When you succesfully cancel a service but the provider continues charging your card.

They forgot to include this one...:sneaky:

I usually find it's an sms that says "ey man can you borrow me some money till next week I'll pay you back I promise"

There is a guy I know who paid Nigerian scammers 800k, he took out loans because they promised him 8 million... A dumb fvck of note... I stopped associating with him in case stupidity is contagious...

Always Google first.
You may have installed malware too. Do a full scan.
Did Google at the time, nothing found.

Yep, I found malware it's called "Transunion" which has leaked personal information on to dark web.
