He is not the only one. There is no longer any South African Dollar Billionaire left in the country. They are all abroad with their money and assets. By the way, the country is quickly running out of Dollar Millionaires too. A shame for the government.

Let's start the games....

Nicky Oppenheimer and his son left South Africa for Singapore. A substantial amount of their fortune has been disinvested locally for their ventures abroad.

Johann Rupert recently announced that he would be leaving SA with his family, citing political fears if CR leaves and a possible attack by SARS. Most of his money has already been disinvested as one would expect when a billionaire plans to leave a country. By the way, he already lives abroad most of the time.

During 2013 Koos Bekker already started disinvesting in SA and acquired a huge estate in the UK. He too started planning on leaving South Africa. Although he may still be in the country on occasions, he spends most time abroad already.

As for Michiel Le Roux, he hardly made the Billionaires list in 2019 with around $1.3bn. In 2021 his fortune contracted to $1.1bn. It is estimated, long before 2023 that he will no longer be a Dollar Billionaire and not even worth mentioning. Unless, of course, if he takes his fortune abroad, invest abroad and grow again.

As for Glaseneberg, as with all other Dollar Billionaires and most, if not all Dollar Millionaires, he already left the country. SARS is not seeing any income from them.
