The South African state IT scapegoat

Punching bag for failure in South Africa

South African state departments continue to blame the State IT Agency (Sita) for inefficiencies and misconduct due to its mandate, with two occurrences in the past month.

However, the agency says its service delivery coverage of state departments is far more limited than it is made out to be.

I do love it when government departments throw around percentages to try and convince people "its not us".

I can easily believe that HA only acquires 20% of its IT services from SITA, but if that 20% is for core server and network infrastructure then the remaining 80% is as good as useless when that 20% wobbles.
