I think it's a fantastic plan. The state helps them steal all this money, gets paid handsomely while doing it, and then steals it all back.

They are currently being investigated by the FBI and the UNODC.

This is poor journalism. Is Guptas = Trillian?
Trillian is probably a front to legitimise the Guptas. The family and Zuma control who gets what work in government and the Guptas probably wanted a legitimitate front to hide behind. About the same as Zuma fronting his son in all dealings with them

Salim Essa actually.

The Guptas have never had any direct relation with Trillian.

WTF are you on about?

Journalists say Guptas have had their R1.6b property freezed? But is Trillian and McKinsey part of the Gupta family empire?
I'm not surprised that no one has picked this up since most of you are sheep here who believe everything as long as its in a newspaper.

I know he's supposed to own TCP but I'm sure its a scheme to avoid questions around how much government business they receive. TCP facilitated business in return for payments most of which I'm sure were never declared and were simply spirited offshore in black bags.

The Gupta companies claim to earn less than 5% from government business yet public info says otherwise

But Trillian was run by Tokyo and they had absolutely no relation with Gupats at financial level? And McKinsey has absolutely no financial links to Guptas. So why do we say Guptas?

So why didn't anybody in this forum of intelligent people pick this up and correct and klap the journalists for not having full facts? This forum is really embarassing sometimes.

I said it was a ploy to legitimise them. Meaning the likes of Tokyo didn't know the detailed ownership structures.

Let's say Salim is friends with Guptas, but what the hell does McKinsey have to do with the Guptas that we have to have an article that gives an impression that Guptas are the subjects of this court case?

Yes the reporting is poor in that regard as the Guptad can't be linked to TCP.

Which, (I've already demonstrated it in another topic, will try to find it) is utter bull****, since Tegeta itself gets more, but they don't include SOEs in their government proceeds calculation apparently...
