Sigh, just watched an old Top Gear from S16, the one with the Mercedes, Rolls and “Bentley” in Albania and now ep1 of GT seemed even more depressing :cautious:.

Really must watch ep 2 to regain some hope in GT...

I was really looking forward to this special and it ended up being ...meh.....

Everything felt rehashed and stale to be honest. Same old, same old....

The donkey thing was completely unnecessary, forced and cringe worthy to be honest.

I hope it gets better.

Aware of the shame therein, I agree with the first thing you said, with the second I don't, I literally laughed till it hurt. Anyway it was a tad good but not spectacular.

Last nights episode was awesome.
When those 3 go off to another country misbehaving it just has me glued to the screen all the way through.
Even since Top Gear these type of episodes have always been my favourite and I wish they would do much more of them.

I didn't like Episode 2, everything felt overly planned and staged.

Don't get me wrong I know most "reality" tv has waaay too many staged and set up scenes, but this one was just waay over the top. Hamilton shipping his car in, just to take a crack at the cocaine industry, then running over things and bumping into Mays car, sure it was funny in Top Gear Season 4, but its kind of been done at this point.

The donkey section, whatever they tried there, could have been left out entirely.

I love these shows, where they take cars to other countries and do something there, but this really just felt forced, like something sucked whatever made the episodes so great before out of this.

Lets hope it gets better.

One top Gear episode I loved, which they couldn't stage scenes to much, was where they went to bolivia with the jeeps. You could see there that they actually went through that experience, while some scenes were staged, it didn't feel like they tried to be funny, they just were.

More concerning for me was the way May pronounced "cocaine" at the very end of 303.
