the 18V batteries from the multievo are compatible with these other lose units hey?

Edit: NVM i scrolled :) Thanks for confirming. its kinda vague on the website. Got my eye on this for next.
They are compatible with quite a big range of items including some of their higher end Dustbuster vacuums.

From what I read on the black and decker site, the 18v platform all use the same batteries or rather connector. So the diy and household products share the same batteries.

Season's greetings all. Hope you all got the tools that you've been wanting and have some projects lined up for them:cool:

I'm eyeing the Ingco cordless angle grinder. It's currently a smidge under R1k on Takealot for the brushed version, and R300 more for the brushless version.

Is it worth the additional 33% asking price for the brushless version? I'm not planning on heavy use with it, maybe once or twice a month for a few minutes a piece.

EDIT: I see the brushless version is showing out of stock. I'm looking on Takealot specifically, as I have a voucher to use on there.

Apparently when it comes to cordless grinders brushless makes a big difference, without it the grinder is gutless.

^ Not B vs B-less!
Brush vs Brushless in grinders: It is much more about the gearing !!!! The lower rpm models are much better, Makita's first cordless ran too fast and was both hammering the battery and easily stalling, hammering the battery even more, badly enough that I got rid of it quickly and got b-less once the came out.
I have a Metabo Inox brushed and x2 b-less Makita m/c.....the Metabo is slowest @ 5000 rpm? vs Makita @+- 8000 rpm vs +- 10000 rpm for initial Makita brush model.....fig. may not be completely accurate as going from memory.

Thanks @airborne and @D tj.

I ended up needing it sooner than expected so I went for the brushed model. It arrived today and I picked up a few grinding and cutting discs and a tiger's paw as well. Seems to run quite well but I'll test it out this weekend when I have to sharpen the lawnmower blades again.

If I am not 100% satisfied I will return it and rather wait for the brushless version to be in stock again. But first impressions are good, although I might need to pick up a bigger battery soon. I don't think these 2.0Ah batteries are going to cut it - no pun intended.

An advantage with a bigger battery is not just runtime it's also under sustained load they will be able to provide higher current for longer.

Grinders are extremely power hungry so for any decent size job you'd definitely want a 4Ah.

A grinder will kill 2Ah batteries in no time.
Yeah, I have my eye on the 4.0Ah battery as well, but will see how long this lasts. I have two so one is always fully charged, ready to be swapped out. I first want to build up my tools before I start buying additional batteries - currently have the Ingco multi-tool and reciprocating saw in my wishlist and also, the rotary hammer drill :D

Anyone have experience with the Makita BHR202ZK? Do you recommend it for DIY? Deciding between this and Makita wired drill.

What did you get, what RPM?
Work gently or you will suffer early battery death.

F1 Fan I have one and have discussed it with others using it on sites....consensus: fine to 12mm....none of us used for bigger holes, however I bought a Ryobi brushed 18v to use as 6- 12 mm holes, x1 handed.....modified to use with Makita batteries. Happy with it.

I doubt I will be using it for bigger holes.

Im deciding between that and this:

Ingco P20S, 8500rpm claimed. The brushless version is 9000rpm, according to the spec sheet. I'm not planning on doing any heavy duty work with it. I'll probably invest in a 2400w corded grinder for the bigger jobs down the line.
