Google has announced the results of its 2018 Year in Search, which outlines the biggest trends based on searches conducted in South Africa this year.

Trending searches showed South Africa’s interest in local celebrities, news and events, with six of the top 10 trending search terms being related to local matters.

I think a lot of these are people who don't know how to talk to google. So instead of asking "If a condom breaks or if I miss a day on my birth control pills can I still get pregnant" etc. they just ask those seemingly stupid questions.
