I just thought he'd embezzled millions because the hyper
 
"personal misconduct" isn't the best description as "personal misconduct" could suggest that Schindehutte was getting his Vavi/Zuma on with Telkom employees.
 
The real reason remains hidden. This was supplied for the media's and Telkom shareholder's sake IMO.

Are mostly exercises to make it look like Telkom is becoming leaner and more competitive - less bloated - to make it appear that all of Telkom's woes have to do with having a high staff component -- the effect of which is to render a whole pile of things as an intractable problem

Is what Telkom needs to constantly steer to in order to survive

what they also need is to become an Internet enabler to do things like:
actively drive a last mile access program
drive ISPs into "deeper" access on the network (more IPConnect points)
 
What Telkom need to survive is beg government to allow them to compete... sell off 30%-60% of their assets to preferably two other operators.
