So took my Corsa in to Williams Hunt for a service, and they needed to skim the disks and do some works on the brakes.
Get the car back , and while driving down the freeway, find a nice little "shimmer" on the stearing wheel between 80 and 100, so take the car back and ask them if they did the allignment and balancing.
They inform me that they do not do that as part of the service - WTF
Okay, so now i need to lay out more money to a 3rd party to sort out my wheel allignment and balancing. (not happy)
Especially after laying out a few grand for brakes, oil pump, springs, and service.
So i am off to Tiger Wheel and Tyres at Canal Walk, decide i might as well do some shopping while the tyres are done.
Give them my cell no and they tell me they will phone when it is finished.
2 hours later decide to go back and see whats what, see my car is finished and standing waiting, no call to say it is finished, cannot find the guy who took my car in to get invoice to pay, so have to wait 20 min while they track the idiot down, apparently he was out joy riding in a Cobra.
Hope it wasnt a clients.
So settle up for R375 and drive off.
Back on the freeway to find the "shimmer" is still there, and now becasue they swopped the front and rear tyres, the car is now pulling to the right every time i accelerate quickly. (highly pissed off by now)
Too miffed to go back and deal with idiots, so decide to go to the Tyre Guys at N1 city, for wheel allignment and balancing again, explain everything that has happened so far and they take the car in and i am off to a coffee shop to down gallons of Cappocino's and smoke myself into a coma while i cool down.
2 hours later i get the call to go pick up my car.
Arrive there and haul out my credit card to pay, and the guy says to me "no need, here are your keys, thank you very much"
Just like that, no arguments, no quibble, no hassle.
All i can say is thank you, and i am grateful that there are still some bloody decent people left in the motor industry, nice to know not everybody is out to roger the man in the street.
