And what when an essential service worker, like a doctor, has the same issue? The ****ing Brownshirts piss me off.
One of the battery places websites says that you can call them if you are essential services to arrange for a battery...which I'm not - so shít out of luck.

So we keep getting told this crackdown is to spread the load on the healthcare system. Right? Right, so you can't get a battery, and god forbid something happens and you need medical attention, I dunno, you slip and fall whilst mixing up a batch of pineapple beer, and you need to get to the emergency room. Now you need an ambulance to come get you as well, cause no car.
How on earth does the means get any closer to the end?

FFSing morons.

I cant buy underpants. I need underpants
I lost 10kg over the last 3 months, was planning to go buy new clothes this past weekend.
None of my belts have hoops left and my pants all fall off... luckily I have gym/running shorts - but that's all I wear now.

May get locked up by police for looking like I'm jogging.
Wait... if I need to buy medication at the clicks 3km away and my car battery is dead - does that mean I can jog to the shop or is there a speed limit to determine whether I may or not

Smoke sales allowed in WC according to capetalk just now
Ja but does any of the shops know? Does anybody know which shops in CT currently sell cigarettes? PnP didn't sell on Saturday.

I await the twitter video of some guy getting locked up whilst speed walking in his gym pant.

I dunno what you have in CT, up here we have spaza shops. They sell you cigarettes. We also have taverns who will sell you booze out the backdoor whilst they are following the closed and shuttered front door as per the regulations.

Might take shops a while to catch up, but it’s just been released
Basically all grocery shops, and you need to buy something essential with the smokes

The list of stores that therefore are permitted to remain open, according to the guidelines and which have been confirmed by SAPS WC, are:
  1. Grocery stores (including large retail chains as well as smaller food shops, fruit and veg shops, butchers and convenience stores at filling stations)
  2. Spaza Shops
  3. Pet stores (only selling animal food)
  4. Health food stores. Where these shops sell food, hygiene products and/or cleaning products, they are permitted to be open. If open, these stores may sell ONLY essential goods
  5. Pharmacies

So you're not allowed to take your dog for a walk, but also not allowed to buy toys to keep them occupied.

I had to go to the bank today to open up a business bank account, and that took a pretty long time. So I went outside for a smoke. That was not the best idea. Lots of people came begging for a smoke from me.

Other than that. Quiet out there. Didnt see a cop or SANDF

This hot/prepared meal ban is also monumentally retarded really... if a shop like Spar is open, why does their hot foods section have to be closed. Many people don't have the ability to prepare food at home or can't cook or whatever... now they are left high and dry on this front.

And just for shytes and giggles since I'm a hipster vaper type, I just placed an order for pods on a well known stores website to be collected, and less than an hour later the order was ready for collection and I went and fetched them. I know I'd never be able to buy them in the same stores physical presence, but I strolled into the store and collected my parcel and left.
