I still can't see any benefit in stopping cigarette sales. It just creates more stress and frustration for people in these isolation fkd times. It's not good to punish others for the failure of some.

I think you misread or misunderstood my post.

I'm arguing for smokers. I'm saying it's crap that this government implements restrictions like this in these stressful times.
Any smoker would go mad without smokes.
That's why it's an addiction.
Even so, it's nobody's right to dictate whether people can smoke or not.
The bakkie that drives past or the bike that revs causes more polution than I do in a week of smoking.

I grew up in Nigel after moving to SA. Went to Boys' High in Springs. Only moved to Kempton about two and a half years ago. (Was in Benoni before that)

So, I had to make a trip to the shops today, we needed some fresh fruit and veg.

I did indeed manage to buy candles, so there's that. I also got my soda stream canister replacement no problem. The only item on my list I couldn't find (evergreens, clicks and checkers) as a replacement cartridge for my inline water filter - none of them had anything in the nature of that animal, so I suppose they just don't normally sell them. I see Takealot has and will deliver, so I'll just replace/upgrade my system later today anyway.

What was weird was the clicks I went to had large sections of shelf covered up, like I could buy a microwave or a toaster, but (to @RedViking 's no doubt dismay) I couldn't buy a hair clipper or hair dryer or flattening iron. Just weird, as Checkers had no problem selling me anything - the only items off limits were garden poisons, I could get regular doom style bug spray, and no cigarettes. Everything else was fair game.

The shelves at all three were fully stocked and as I went at 7, there was no queue either although they had strict measures limiting the number of people entering.

Also for those that want, Evergreens has large quantities of 75% hand sanitiser.
