The utter absurdity of what you can and cannot buy in shops

So, I had to make a trip to the shops today, we needed some fresh fruit and veg.

I did indeed manage to buy candles, so there's that. I also got my soda stream canister replacement no problem. The only item on my list I couldn't find (evergreens, clicks and checkers) as a replacement cartridge for my inline water filter - none of them had anything in the nature of that animal, so I suppose they just don't normally sell them. I see Takealot has and will deliver, so I'll just replace/upgrade my system later today anyway.

What was weird was the clicks I went to had large sections of shelf covered up, like I could buy a microwave or a toaster, but (to @RedViking 's no doubt dismay) I couldn't buy a hair clipper or hair dryer or flattening iron. Just weird, as Checkers had no problem selling me anything - the only items off limits were garden poisons, I could get regular doom style bug spray, and no cigarettes. Everything else was fair game.

The shelves at all three were fully stocked and as I went at 7, there was no queue either although they had strict measures limiting the number of people entering.

Also for those that want, Evergreens has large quantities of 75% hand sanitiser.
Water supply shops are open in pta east. They stock filters.

So, how do you get an online employee a new laptop if theirs packed up?

Apparently, there is a complicated process involving affidavits, police declarations and willing sellers? Looked into it for my daughter and ended up getting an old laptop going as a temporary measure instead. Was quicker to do that. She must just not switch it off because it won't start up again without some rather intricate fiddling around.
Involved a tricky clandestine road trip though.

Wootware got a permit to do it, apprently. That means they're doing it legit.

It's Orwellian logic:
1. Microwave = cooking = essential.
2. Hair clippers = not food = not essential.

/sarcasm
Well, if your hair grows long and you develop lice, you can use essential healthcare services. Beat the system man.

If you limit what people can buy you decrease traffic to these places, decreasing traffic to these places means people won't be much in constant contact spreading the virus... My goodness the idiocy that MyBB has become! Must everything be brought down to your Grade R level of comprehension?
Nonsense, you are making some poor assumptions. People are persistent, if they cannot get it at one place they will try another. If they cannot get it at all, they will try to get ingredients together to manufacture it. And if that fails, they will look for alternatives, or buy it on the underground. This increases the traffic, which could have been avoided if they could just get it at the place that they usually do.

Apparently some people are already shopping in the buff, so masturbating in the checkout queue will be a natural progression.
LOL, I do not mean looking forward to go to the shops to read Playboy there. I mean looking forward to it... like fresh bread. Buy and eat at home. Currently it is like ag fok, the milk is finished and the vegetables also. Nah, I do not want to go, maybe later. But if there is Playboy newspaper, I may go: Yes, I'll go shopping!
