The Vegan Thread

It's not about nature. It's about me. It's what I feel. If an animal dies because a lion caught it, then so be it. I didn't contribute to it.

I have a dog and I prevent fleas. Never needed to cure it.

But lets say you adopted your dog off the streets and it was infested.

BTW,since you have a dog, you must obviously feed it. It's food will consist of animals that were killed, hence you contributed to another animal's death.
Unless you are one of those maniacs who thinks carnivores like dogs and cats can subscribe to a vegan lifestyle.

What's your point? Let me reiterate the reason why most people are vegan: "Veganism is a way of living that seeks to exclude, as far as possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing and any other purpose."

There are vegan dog foods on the market in some countries and these have been tested to be perfectly healthy for dogs (which are omnivores). But in SA, where these options are not available, then the "as far as possible and practicable" comes into play. No rational vegan would ever claim that nothing they do causes harm, but they strive to reduce that harm as much as possible.

Going here tomorrow for our office year end lunch. Gonna have me a nice big juicy rump. See they do the 600g gram. Have not seen such a nice big size on a menu for ages. Think I am gonna go big tomorrow. Just thought I would mention it here. :D

God you're daft...

I just said...it's not ME. I did not EAT the animal, I did not wear it's skin, I did not drink it's milk or eat it's eggs. I'm not going to force my dog to follow my lifestyle. It is MINE.

I shall be at your local this evening from around 18h45 to 19h45 for a guinness or two. Pity the places with decent guinness != places with decent food.

Here's a pretty cool site for easy and cheap recipes (with very cool illustrations): http://theveganstoner.blogspot.com/

Not sure if this has been posted yet...

Don't know if I could ever be vegan but I will admit to enjoying a few of their concoctions from time to time.

Thank you both kindly! :D

I knew about the Stoner dude, but not the Black Metal one. The Stoner dude is just as hilarious. You can also check this one:

I dont care too much if a person is vegan. Everyone is allowed their choices, its a phase people often go through. Only reason Im commenting in this thread (as I dont wanna take it too OT... )is cause I was quoted in the OP. That quote reminded me of a cartoon I saw today :D

The more people that eat plants, the cheaper my meat is. So power to you and all that :D
