Last epi seemed to be more of a set up for season 2 than a traditional epic season ending.

Did egywene channel through her necklace? Not sure what that scene was all about.

But not great, will see where they go but excited for season 2

Werent you one of the biggest defenders of the shitshow?

First four episodes, yes - I was very excited to see the books come to life - then they turned the Wardens into wussies and my initial enthusiasm started to wane....

There were a couple of positives after that but I'm now hoping like hell that they don't fck it up.

All I really want is for the show to do some justice to the original story.

When I read GoT after watching season 1, I knew most of the characters. When I read Eddard, I pictured Sean Bean. The series and characters were memorable. Even with the Witcher, I can picture all the characters from the game or series.

WoT... I stared reading the book, and reading about Rand and Matt, I had no idea who they were. I vaguely remember Perrin as the big chubby guy, and sadly that image stuck.
Trollocs in my mind are still monsters looking like they came out of a cheap 80s TV show.

The only positive images I have are Lan and Moiraine. I think I'm better off ignoring the series and just reading the books, which is a pity. For us to get more fantasy series, they need to get the viewership.

Slowly making my way through the books, reading 2 or 3 a year. I will be watching season 2, but at this point I see it more as a “show inspired by WoT”.

Curious to see how they will be handling the Barney Harris replacement!

There have been many turnings of the Wheel. The TV show is a different third age to the one in the books.

I found the first few really exciting and gripping. Then Jordan completely lost the plot and I found the next few a real slog. Then it picked up in the last few books. I really enjoyed the final ones that Sanderson wrote.
It was explained at some point by someone I forget the details that this is because the series is actually three different genres with the second phase being the politics. Multiple angles on the same world.

But yes it ended up being a bigger task than he was up to to do.
