*waits for some iperson to barge in and explain that it's not about the device numbers, but rather about the money being made off of customers...thereby starting ANOTHER apple vs samsung bickering fest*
Sigh.

*holds thumbs that this will not be the case*

Geez, rather impressed that Nokia's market share is still so large. I know it is not smartphones but I would have expected a far greater slide overall. Still rooting for them.

And Apple so far behind...

I think Iphone sales were so weak because they had only 2 - 3 weeks of new iphone sales. Q4 will be more interesting though. A better view would be "smart phone" market share

agreed they just need to get better lawyers and Q4 will be the Iphone's time to get some market share

Am I right in suspecting that the only area where Apple will still top Samsung is in the total value of the phones sold? Only top range smartphones vs covering the whole market.

Hmm, Blackberry is under serious threat of disappearing into "Other" (2.1% versus < 2.0%)

I'm one of the guys that make up the huge stats in Samsung. On hindsight I do regret why I went for it instead of iPhone; and this is based purely on their battery life (or lack of it):crying:

Me too.

Nokia has got great potential for an amazing comeback if it can convert its feature phone owners into its smartphone customers.

I upgraded to Android (Samsung) recently and soon my whole family followed. Pretty sweet phones

ZTE and huawei have a bigger market share than HTC ?

Let's see that graph with asian markets excluded.

If that doesn't look substantially different, things really are a lot worse than I thought.

Well i'm not a fan of Samsung but this year they have sure outdone themselves, great marketing from them, well i'm still iOS (Apple), i hope next year its going to be different, ;)

Been an Android fan for 2 years now, and I won't look back...
Samsung has definitely up it's game :)

The only race Apple is winning is the one where they squeeze more profits from their customers than any other company ... and people queue up overnigt to be squeezed dry.
