With stage 3, 4, 5 and 6 loadshedding, my electricity bill has come down by R1800-R2000 a month. Eskom is generating a whole lot less from me. Even with their new increase, they will not closely come to getting what they used to get from me.

Let it rip....

I just keep wondering if we can blame Eskom for all the food poisoning that is about to hit the country.

All those spaza shop fridges and freezers, off 50% of the time.

The lack of urgency and action from the anc towards the failing Eksdom can only be part of the anc boiling pot plan. I mean is it possible any "government" will let it get to this stage unless they want it to happen?

I seriously doubt they would be able to plan something like this.... 100% of the available mental capacity in the ANC goes towards figuring out new ways to steal and plunder, no capacity left to plan anything.

I have had this idea for some time that this may actually all be on purpose. Either CR or the ANC as a collective's plan. Things that gave me the idea is NDZ's comments about using covid to kill off the country's middle class to do away with inequality. Cyril and the ANC and government and parliament backing her. This is maybe their idea... dropping the Rand and picking it up again thinking they can start a new black economy. Either way, once everything collapses, there is no turning back. There is no starting up again. Just look up North.

Sadly the RET faction is a real thing if you look at the messages coming from the more radical anc members. They definitely have discussed it.

One other thing is the state bank that they keep pushing for, thats only really required when there are sanctions and you want to have a centralised bank so you can operate outside of the world economy.
Hopefully thats all just a pipe dream for the RET faction though.

South Africa needs more Banks. Only having four big banks is a joke

Why, what could additional banks provide that current can not?

Nobody will give you money without valid business plan or credit worthiness unless it is bank like VBS where it is free for all connected comrades.

How much was your bill in the first place? How many people?

Since installing solar, we pay under R290 for electricity each month and that includes the connect charge

More than 25 people I know have installed similar solar systems, plus many of their businesses. That is tens of thousands of Rand that Eskom will never receive

The 18% increase will make very little financial benefit
