I'm sure the mathematicians disagree, practically the whole planet including computers know mathematics.
I migrated from India - tell me more about this retreat of english language in India? Where did you hear about this?
Vote bank politics though. Also, here you mention link language only but your earlier post mentions retreat of english in education & media. Hindi could be growing as link language within India but english is far from retreat - it is growing along side as well - do you reckon Indians don't go abroad? Of course, Hindi is becoming ubiquitous within india partly due to bollywood influence as well. Heck - someone in Ethiopia uttered some broken bollywood dialog to me few years ago.HM Amit Shah wants hindi as a link language in the south of India as well and is promoting effectively the language in schools
- do you reckon Indians don't go abroad?
Mandarin is the worlds dominant language , dont see many english people subbing in those words .In a society where English is already dominating, there's little chance the indigenous languages will develop well enough to rival developed languages. To compound the issues, black middle class has largely adopted English as a dominant language in their daily lives.
Therefore, they're not going to bother with nuances of their L1 if they have substitute words in English.
Im pretty sure you are just making that up .English also doesn't have words for some things in the African languages, isn't that just wonderful?
I am not, trust me.Im pretty sure you are just making that up .
Throw some at me then .

Or maybe some languages are more adaptive and thereby more advanced ?It's spoken mostly in China.
Even so, words are modified to sound English. Apparently words like "tycoon" are far eastern in origin.

There is a word for that but yeah nice reach .A funny Zulu one: "bhibiza".

The name "yam" appears to derive from Portuguese inhame or Canarian (Spain) ñame .Kwashiorkor (sp), yam, mamba and a bunch of others.
