Says who? ONE word denotes a whole sentence? Bullschit...

You're stupid as fsck, just like @Jabulani22

If language A doesn't have a word that corresponds exactly to a word in language B, it'll take a sentence to describe it in language A.

The name "yam" appears to derive from Portuguese inhame or Canarian (Spain) ñame .
The main derivations borrow from verbs meaning "to eat".
True yams have various common names across multiple world regions.

I guess 2 out of 3 ain't bad...compared to the hundreds of English words with "i" or "e" glued to the front.
As has been pointed out, English just Latinised the word or modify it. Hydrogen, tycoon, parliament, etc all have their origins elsewhere. So, I don't see anything wrong with sticking an I or e in front of a word. It still conveys the message.

English is what it is today because of other languages. It has evolved into a very powerful language

I've heard that there's no indigenous african word for the english word maintain. Now we know why the country's falling apart
Makes sense really. Apartheid language had 1000's of words that gave rise to apartheid. And no word in "african" language for maintain, so collapse. All language fault.

Now wait a bit.
Here is some deputy president who served under Zuma regime that destroyed our economy now fronting as an expert of linguistic value?

Why should I value his utterances?

He is a typical ZERO i.e. he brings no value to the table other than his BEE enrichment.

Oh...wait a bit...this clown is now our chief.

He is no Chief but our democratically elected President of the Republic, unless you were barred from voting because of your unflattering BEE points?

OK So CR is wealthy and is so big time.
Do you disagree?
Please enlighten us as to the the companies he created that made his wealth.
The Oppenheimers created riches from their own risk and effort, so did Raymond Ackerman, Johan Rupert.
More recently, Mark Shuttleworth,. Elon Musk, GT Ferreira, and Capitec players. Naspers players.

Please tell us exactly what contribution did that frog make to become so wealthy and then still have the cheek to express his opinion about the value of languages.
