These apps are killing your smartphone battery

Fitbit, Uber, Skype, and Facebook?

Don't have any of those installed

EDIT: Just read the article and out of those 20 I only have 2 on my phone. And no @Grant , Grindr is not one of them, stop tagging me there

The 'ranking' used in the article is pretty dumb, and bears little resemblance to real world usage. Well designed apps can remain periodically active in the background, without using excessive resources. Any app that runs in the foreground will chew up power.

The only way to find out for yourself is to load a program that does a real-time analysis, and identify the culprits on your own device. In some cases changing settings can make a difference. The safest way is to close all unused apps.

Since deleting facetube from my phone, my battery lasts almost half a day longer, I now charge my phone every second day, instead of daily.

I find Whatsapp chows my battery if there is lots of activity in the groups I am in (even muted ones)

Have left the ones I can, just family and work left :/

The YouTube app uses much less power than many others, and far less than viewing the same video in a browser.

WhatsApp seems to use almost no power in standby mode.
Got tired of the ads and now adaptive quality so now I stream the video source direct also PiP.

I don't have the Fakebook app on my phone but rather access it from the phones browser as it uses less battery that was and is less intrusive. Besides I only use it for marketplace and to swear people who I disagree with. I am banned from posting for a few days at a time mostly so don't use it to often.

FNB app drained my battery on my previous phone cause it wanted to have location on all the time to work, and location on that phone was a battery drainer.

if i charged my old phone (nokia 7plus) at night, by the morning it would sometimes be at 80-something%, and the culprit would be duolingo. much better batter life if i use the app and then kill it afterwards.

blitz golf is also usually high with battery usage, but that's because i play it a lot because i clearly have a thing for constantly losing.
