It's a pathetic increase.

At some point however people need to realise the money is gone, thanks largely to corruption and incompetence, and that has consequences for public sector salaries.
Anything lower than CPI is pathetic.

Not when the entity you work for is busy collapsing and can't afford that increase in a country rife with unemployment.

At some point something has to give.
The government can rid this country of this communism (unions) by austerity. But the ANC won’t chop off its own finger to save its hand.

It would have to be 100% everyone boycott.

And that would involve the big businesses boycotting where their CEO would be liable and face jail time, all while they get dodge tax like a pro during normal work. Thus, it won't happen.
