All the various solutions I have put in place to mitigate the effects of load shedding not working.

The battery backup for my router and access point lasts just shy of four hours, and load shedding this morning was 4 hours and 15 minutes.

The battery backup for my Raspberry Pi lasts just shy of five hours but because of the LS from 21:00 - 22:00 it didn't have enough juice by the time the next round hit at 02:00 to carry it through to 06:15 this morning.

FÜck you, Eskom. Go DIAF

EDIT: That reminds me, I messaged one of the online stores to inquire about stock of a UPS around two weeks ago, but of course I received no reply as is the Safrican way. I followed up again this morning, but the fact that I have to beg people to take my money makes me reluctant to want to support them.

Business must just be TOO good

Port Elizabeth's industries don't get shed so as a result, the residential and commercial zones are shed more often.

So stage 1 we actually use stage 2 schedules
Stage 2 we use stage 4 schedules
Stage 4 and up we use stage 8 schedules

So it's as if we are in Stage 4 right now, which, in my honest opinion, really sucks ass.

I quit fighting loadshedding in business a while back after throwing a wad of money at it. If you cannot beat em join em. Now just close up for business whenever it happens. When in Rome..

Well in Johannesburg it's 4 and a half hours up to stage 4, than from stage 5 it's all confusing with some two hour blocks.

No, all still 4.5 hour blocks - but offset by 2 hours from the usual schedule.
