I would try to get away should I end up in the same situation.

Not get out and try to talk some sense into the hooligans, just put your foot to the floor and get out of that situation soonest.

I don't know all the details but I have pictures of the vehicle back at the factory so I don't think anyone got out and confronted the perpetrators.

One of my wife's family company vehicles got jumped and stoned in Benoni earlier today by apparently a mob of 20 The employee's got away uninjured but the vehicle looks a little worse for wear, to say the least.

A bit more detail, only one employee in the car, driving along and people 'playing' soccer in the street brought him to a stop after which a mob descended on the car smashing windows using rocks to get in the car. They got hold of his wallet but threw it back in the car after seeing it had no cash in it, so made off with his cell phone and garage fleet card...

Any mob doing whatever in the street - safest is to turn around rather, and take another route.

Best thing is to plan a couple of escape routes ahead of time, just in case. And keep the fuel tank full enough.
