So, @Sinbad, still think I drive slowly...

I was on my way home from action cricket in Sebenza/Kempton Park, going slowly down Bompas Rd between Illovo and Dunkeld behoind an elderly couple in a Subaru (@Sinbad at it again!), when I heard a scraping noise. I was going slowly and not braking hard at all, so I thought something had lodged itself somewhere, I stopped as soon as I could but couldn't spot anything with my iPhone torch on the side of the road and since I had 2km to get home decided to carry on. Got home and saw the caliper was not where it was meant to be and there scrape marks on the barrel of the wheel so the caliper was clearly rubbing.

I got the car up, axle stands underneath, pulled the wheel off and the top caliper to hub bolt is AWOL  That explains that, one friend is collecting a spare bolt from another Touareg owner for me, another is going passed Goldwagen to get one and will then come help me get it sorted. Hopefully there isn't too much damage or any permanent damage....

Yikes!
Glad that wasn't a lot more serious.

Vws aren't the same without Morne to watch over the wekkas.

Jared at JS Works did it last year September.

Yikes!

Jared may not have the same experience Morne had but his attention to detail and knowledge is still great.

Jared needs a PK

He is on his way to get a new bolt before coming to my house, I am still not sure it is a simple case of it not being tightened enough, 11 months is a long time for a not tight enough bolt to suddenly give issues.

I like buying those shirts that say you ran this race or went to that tournament, but I hate the fact that they put the year on the shirt.
So now everyone knows I'm wearing a 27 year old t shirt.

That bolt should never come out.
