Wow my house/complex was in danger of burning down just now. Huge veld fire. Flames taller than my house in places. Thankfully flames didnt jump over the wall even though it was right next to it.

Not an irritation but don't know where else to post lol.

When you're unscrewing something with a spanner or screwdriver and you think it's loose enough to use your fingers to turn but it's not, so you do a few more turns and this time it's definitely loose enough, except it's still not.

This for sure and usually it is in a difficult spot to reach, you are working by feel, the spanner is 6 point so you need to wriggle it around even more t get it to fit and, when the nut or bolt is finally free it falls into a slot, hole or just disappears. It only re-appears when you have bought a replacement. One of shade tree Mechanics Laws.

Yep, same Morne, he serviced all my VAG cars privately after their maintenance/service plans expired but he is enjoying life in Canada now still working on VW's. I haven't used VAG Spec Centre which Frans started myself but know many that have and they are still highly regarded. I make use of either Solid Cafe, Ray used to work for Audi, or Jared at JS Worx who is a good friend and despite my Touareg's recent brake issue, does excellent work. In Gauteng, the VW guru is still Stephan, especially with Touareg's but he is far from me so I'll only use him for big jobs like engine or gearbox out work.

Thanks, will look up those guys. Frans has always been great until the KFC incident.

Story time...

:D not very exciting.

When the driver/s delivered my car back after service last year there were grease and water marks on the seats, the interior smelled like KFC for weeks.

Guessing they had a KFC and drinks party en route o_O

Luckily I took pics because VAG tried twice to clean the marks themselves and eventually had to have it valeted.

Peeved me but it also left me without a decent mechanic for this years' service. Car doesn't feel right.

Shout if you need contact details, Ray is on the West Rand (Radiokop I think it is) but may be able to come to you, Jared is currently in Blairgowrie but moving to Ferndale Ridge at the end of August and Stephan is in Petit, Benoni.
