Thinking I should start looking into dating a white woman...

A Xhosa friend of mine married a white girl from Canada. He used to come to work and moan about candle lit dinners and having to eat pasta. He says he does not understand why candlelight is regarded as romantic by whites because he grew up in the township where they had no electricity. He had to study by candlelight and therefore regards it as a ridiculous ritual. As for pasta, it is not 'real' food. If there is no meat, you cannot call it a meal, according to him.
His wife complained bitterly about him being unromantic and not wanting to eat pasta. According to her, he puts a piece of red meat in a pot with water, cooks it and voila.
They do have a beautiful little baby girl. Unfortunately this added to the rift that grew wider between the two every day. Not to mention his extra-marital affairs and suggestions of taking a second wife ...

I've seen it work in rare cases but mostly the culture thing is too big to overcome. Dating is about finding the right women for you that you want to settle down with. Hence dating someone you know you will never marry is really just wasting time on that quest. I dated a girl from another race and within a week it was obvious that I would never be able to marry her as the cultural difference was just too big, especially when it came to how they handled money strangely enough. I've had crushes on a girl from every race in SA but after my experience actually dating outside of my culture I decided to stick closer to home to increase the chances of the relationships actually working out.

+1 Most sense I've read in this thread

How can you get married and not know about candle lit dinners, pasta etc? (Just a question). How long did they know each other? Sad that children are already born into a problematic marriage.

But yea.. don't know about any other culture that allow a 2nd wife. That kite won't fly around lots of women...

They met when she was in SA on a student exchange programme. Thereafter it was an internet / email love affair. In reality they only got to know each other after she emigrated to SA and married him. His family lives in Thembisa. Her first visit to the in-laws might have been the first eye opener but ja, by that time it was too late to turn around and go back home ... and I think she was too in love with him anyway.

Yes i'd like to know why black men love a big woman? They always turn their heads for the hippo but never for the skinny chick?
Must be because big women have "presence", they catch attention. You can't help but notice them. :D

For some reason blond German girls often like black guys. I've seen in a few times here in Cape Town. We call it Jungle Fever. My advice would be to find those German girls. There a lot of them in Cape Town; I don't know about Pretoria.
