Hi guys, been thinking of going for Rain for some time now but I'd like to know for sure if my suspicions on my coverage is correct.

I live in Durban and my area as well as most (at least according to their map) should be covered. I emailed them about coverage and they said I should search the mobile networks for frequencies of I think 66518 or 66598? Something like that.

Sure enough it shows up, funny thing is that unlike the other LTE networks that I find (like cell c, vodacom and mtn) those rain frequencies aren't always consistently found, like I can find it now and then at varying times or the day at my place all week and its not being picked up consistently by my phone.

Is this indicative of an unstable Rain connection in my area?

Just get the SIM and try it. If it doesn't work , toss it. No money wasted besides the delivery.

Ditto. Plus don't they still have that free delivery R51 sign up special anymore?

Thanks for the replies guys, didn't go through the process yet but maybe tomorrow after work, so if I just want to test this I shouldn't be going for that 250 uncapped otherwise I'll still have to pay that up by the end of the month?

As far as I understand it. If you take the SIM only deal and then afterwards decide to add uncapped, it will only be effective from November. No pro rata rates.

do it OP, got nothing to lose,
you need to see with your LTE modem and area if it works.

also dont forget, they throttle and shape at all hours, at all times.
so speeds might fluctuate and change all the time.

but for what you get, worth it.
