Also, take 2014 vs 2018, the ZAR oil price has dropped 20% in that time, yet the petrol price is up by 15% :wtf:

Not surprised. Just few months ago, oil dropped, petrol dropped, they added 40c/l tax ... they just increase tax on petrol every time. Not 1-10cents.. but rather 20c+/l every time.

We need a 3rd line to show the exchange rate as well...

Done: fuel history with ZARUSD.jpg

Although you don't need the exchange rate technically, because I've already converted the oil price to ZAR using the exchange rate of the time. So you can compare oil price and petrol price directly on the graph without worrying about currency fluctuations. fuel history with ZARUSD.jpg

It has increased by R2.57 starting April, equaling a 76 cent increase per go, on average, over 4 increases.

Has more or less doubled in price over 10 years. My salary has also doubled, but I did get a promotion in between. My old salary would not have doubled, but would have gone up by about 60-75%.

Mine has also more than doubled since then. I also have a more fuel efficient car now. But I still feel shafted.

Welcome to SA, where the government has never had an inkling of caring for it's people.

You are actually supposed to say your salary has never increased in last 20 years (never say 24 years) and blame ANC

Same double increase here. Price hike does dip into other luxuries but I really don't feel shafted as I doubt if there is much government can do in this instance. In below link, we seem to be the middle if you consider all countries.

Inflation everywhere in South Africa. Relax people. Shortly you all will be millionaires. And shortly thereafter, billionaires :D It is only a question of time.

I wish. Unless you started at the base I started at originally. I started off at R800 a month in 2001. Multiplied many times from that. Sadly it stopped growing like that.
