Like throwing a sheep into a lions den to see what happens. Then acting shocked when it gets eat alive.

What did you think was going to happen??

I think another feelgood-fuzzywuzzy project is in order. Maybe rebuild it, but this time with big tv screens, gaming consoles and some tablets strewn around for good measure. But wait, before the park is opened, we get Panyaza to give them a stern warning not to f*** it up again. That should seal the deal.
Why use an ANC person for this DA province/metro thing?

Now if they'd spent the money on law enforcement...

If only our fellow countrymen were as good at building as they are of breaking things...

Depends where you are. Parts of Soweto are pretty nice.
Fair enough. Before you build something nice in a township, visit the township and see what happened to all the other nice things there.

One of the areas where they also attack paramedics.

Use that money to build a wall around it and forget about it.

So you'll spend 7.6 million in a park where you know it's a problem, but in better areas that probably actually pay their rates and taxes you'll more then likely do nothing?

More likely do nothing? how about the fact that better areas most likely have all those facilities like parks? which are well mantained on top of that?

This was dumb. Everybody knows that parks in sketchy areas are a hotbed for crime and gangsterism. As well providing a place for delinquents in the area to loiter in during the day.

You have to deal with the souls in the area before you spend money on things like this.
fixed.
