Honestly though, if you could share your secret of how you managed to get a laptop to live longer than 2 years you'd make a lot of money...or be a big hit with the ladies.

He works for the manufacturer and has disabled the mandatory die a year after warranty ends chip?

In reality I find most older laptops lack RAM capacity for all their trying to do on it, and people wait too long to upgrade so their RAM is more expensive than the newest type and also harder to easily get.
