Article deliberately finds one of the classifications of guards halfway down the list and opens with that for a headline .. Talk about Clickbait.
And no, for the sake of Gazette, they are not referring to the Professional Reversing Instructors we construe as car guards.

I guess you don't have uniformed car guards there in the sticks? All the malls around me only have uniformed guards with radios linked to a control room.
So your larney car guards dont collect coins like they do here in the sticks, they get a salary instead?

Car guards have it kak.

I read somewhere they have to pay someone / company a daily fee to be allowed to work in that carpark or whatever

Kak one that.

However, I take my hat off to them. Standing in the wind / rain / heat for those long hours.

Yeah but you cant expect to start your business on someones property and not pay them in return. doesn't make sense.

From my experience, they'll accept the tip, but they're forbidden from asking
Okay that is different from joburg then. Here they survive from tips. They still get uniform though,

Here we go again. Another thread about car guards. Just the thing to get the latent racism out of the white posters. Because a couple of guys helping the elderly with there groceries and keeping the shopping experience herion-addict free for a bit of coin is such a faking sin. Let's complain about people trying to make a living not being productive because that is sooo reasonable and completely not unfair to them.

So it's better than that... Most car guards are paying an unconnected 3rd party for the privilege of working at a places parking lot.

At most of the shops near me, the car guards are all paying some gang leader for the right to work on the shops parking lot.
