The last possible moment is often called the 11th hour...

... this is my first experience of the 25th hour:

The flight finally departed from Cape Town shortly after 22:30 and landed in Johannesburg at around 24:45.

Oh, wait. There was that movie. But I didn't see it.

What's really not fair is how many people are booking Mango tickets fully unaware of the problems and potential to not fly. Luckily I paid a little more and booked BA flights this month.

I'm waiting for the inevitable schittstorm to erupt. At this stage Mango is most probably playing the "Robbing Peter to pay Paul" strategy.

that only gets you the (broken) seat, SAA is so broke the fuel card they use declines.
so pass the captains cap around, and fill it up.

Yeah, nope..
The ticket pays for the fuel as well.

What will happen in your scenario is the ticket price will go up.

Just to balance the article a little - I flew with them on CPT-DUR Saturday & the flight left on time & the baggage was on the carousel by the time you walked there.
Payed R655 versus the booked out or R3200 Flysafair wanted or the R6000 BA wanted

Good on you for sharing positive experiences. I've never flown Mango before, but good to know that they do at least deliver some positive moments.

but SAA is completely and totally broke, its literally a black hole of money, isnt it?
so at what point, do you board and they ask everybody to chip in?

I mean if Menzies and Swissport wont work with them, due to non payment,
how long until BP and other service providers say, no pay, no work.

and you have to throw your OWN bags into the hold and chip in for fuel, like a Mexican bus to the USA.

At no point... because it doesn't work that way, regardless of the retarded theories you come up with in your head.

In my experience, Kulula is the worst for being on time, especially later in the day; they are almost always late. Mango has always been good. I haven't flown this year on Mango, last time was in Nov 2020 (so in the C19 world). No issues; FlySAFair, generally been fine - the planes are normally old.
Pre lockdown, I would fly an average of 4 times a month and have flown every airline

Flew with them on Saturday morning and must say service was great. No issues at all. Feel sorry for them as it is government owned and that says it all. Staff sits in the middle

No refunds? I'm sure the CPA is valid for this lack of service.
