The real worrying stat there is that parents will spend 25% less on education/schooling

Yeah, cheaper to cut DSTV and start drinking.
Government should stop lying about inflation (or adjusting the basket of goods to fit their target %), and give is the hard truth so that business and employees can lube up properly.

Well personally:

Holiday and travel - CUT
Eating out / Entertainment - CUT
Entertaining at home - Done but we tend to bring/share with friends
Alcohol - N/A
Shoes and clothing - minimal
Hair and beauty - minimal
Cigarettes - N/A
Domestic worker / gardener - On chopping bock if major increases carry on.
Food and groceries - Cut down and severe shopping around ( stores , salvage, meat specials , bulk )
DStv/M-Net subscription - Cut down
Payments to children / dependents - N/A
Electricity / water - as low as possible, switched to LED and tightened all taps etc.
Children’s schooling / education - not willing to sacrifice.
