I worked with somebody who used to work at FNB.

I can't remember exactly what he said about the subject, but something like Makro were unhappy because people used to come with R5000 vouchers or something.

Actually I can't remember whether FNB or Makro were unhappy, but I remember him saying people abused it like a red headed step child.

I've only ever earned ebucks from my Makro purchases so I'm not bothered - shopping at Makro these days is a hassle so I'm happy to avoid them.

Explain to me as an eBucks noobie where is the loss?

I once chatted to a Canon employee who was involved in supplying Canon cameras to Makro. He told me Makro would basically call up Canon for an order and dictate the models, volume and price they would pay with a "take it or leave it" attitude.
It reminds me of Telkom who did the same with their connectivity solutions before they had competition.

At least some day soon we'll have the new branch open up, hopefully they make the aisles wider and manage to get more operational tillpoints installed.

And the security checkout process at the current premises is a big hold up too which needs streamlining

The one on Cape Road near Baywest Blvd? Looks like it's going to be massive. Apparently the old one is going to be a direct competitor to Builders, which is odd considering builders and makro are owned by the same group.

Getting in was a bigger hassle. Plus the queues for the tills.
