Well its good to know, that there are atleast more and more people getting fed up with crime, and am willing to stand up and fight to protect their families, and not just go crawl into a corner and hope it passes quickly.

As I said before, my hat's of to this dude

Good Job Meneer!!!

I'm glad you were able to protect your family!

Sad, that it sounded like you didn't do too much damage to those thugs.

Thank you God, for saving this family's lives. And thank you for keeping Chris strong during the whole ordeal. We love you Father and pray that you'll restore order in this lawless country.

Amen.

I wish he killed them. No, really. The thoughts flashing through my head as I read that story are somewhat disturbing.

They broke into my house a few weeks ago and I heard something and came out of my room. Must have scared them off because they left without taking much. I don't know what I would have done if I'd caught them though... My mom and sister were both asleep in their rooms.

I agree with that, as disturbing as it may be that we're now getting to this level. The government seems unable or unwilling to do anything so the only way to stop this happening is to remove those committing it from this world permanently.

You can only push people so far, then they are going to start to push back.

What I find really pathetic is if the government can't protect people they should at least admit that and give people the means to protect themselves.

What bugs me is that the police and liberals advise you to never fight back, just do what they want and accept your fate.

What K@K advice!!!

Stand up and fight!

The best defence is offence.

Arm yourselves, get some training, change your mindset from being a victim to somebody that is aware of his surroundings and willing to take the fight to the savages who want to kill, rob and rape your wife and daughters!!

Once again - well done to this hero. Next time he will be better prepared, I'm sure.

The government, really doesnt care about crime. They are making millions from it. Everytime you have to replace something that gets stolen, you have to pay tax. So they are raking it in

A few years back you could shoot the trespasser. There was no break-ins when your where @ home... I think this should be brought back !

Not just the government. The entire economy of South Africa depends on crime. I can't remember the exact figures but if crime were to suddenly stop, our country would go bankrupt. Think about it, 1 criminal steals something, a security guard responds, the police check up on the security guard, the insurance pays out and you buy a new item from the store. How many jobs did that 1 criminal create?

It's disgusting but it's Africa. Such is life...

I don't think so. The amount of money I spend each month on insurance and security could be well spent on something else which could create jobs in itself.

Thats just me, now times that by a couple of million people. All of a sudden plenty disposable income to go around.

This must be the most absurd thought process I have heard since Zuma's shower debacle!

Imagine how much better our tourism & foreign investment would be if the country had a better image? I am very disturbed at the crime explosion at present. I have been car jacked, had 5 guys walk into factory with AK's etc etc. It was so bad I left the country, only to return 10 years later because I miss all the good about this blessed country.

Something needs to be done, but your comment above adds no value to the debate!
