They are awesome. I remember driving one a very long time ago. I don't know if they are still in demand and if there is even spares for them. That model you are talking about was replaced with some other model that is being sold now lately.

My parents bought one new in the early 80s...paid R8,000 out the box... sold it for R20,000 almost 12 years later. Now they go for as much as R50,000. Go figure.

I've also been thinking of getting one instead of my Hilux...

You just look at them and they rust.

:D:D

True, good for the dunes though, not the road. So light they float over sand. Get one for your holiday home on the coast (I drift off dreaming)

Bit top heavy for anything more that 50km/h (yeah, pulled a wicked barrel roll in my sisters)

LOL @ barrel roll :)

My friends got one, only thing I don't like is the fuel consumption it's around 8km per 1l of petrol, or if you prefer 12l petrol for every 100km.

That's if it is those really old small Suzuki things you're talking about (or rather that I'm thinking about).

The new one will be available in a couple of months, called Jimny.

Sorry for the record necro - but was searching for the vehicle on the forum and found my post.

I just bought one.

Cool stuff, my mom had a Jimny that we fixed with a pair of fake eyelashes

Cutest thing ever, but dad refused to drive it after that hehe.

Unfortunately she hurt her back & had to go for a softer ride so she traded it in for a SX4.
