Well the masses approve so unfortunately there's that. Hopefully the stink of sewerage and empty tummies will waken them to the reality of the situation

When? They don't seem to learn from their mistakes...

According to this, just under 90% of SA's had access to electricity in 2022.

As bad as ANC are if they could do that, what was NP's excuse for only having 36%?
Bro, my 3 soweto friends said they had electricity and some of them had solar panels before 1994. At least a million of mybb forumites will say the same so that makes it 3 million soweto friends. You reckon these 3 million people are lying ?

Eskom tried to convince the government to allow it to build more power stations. But under the macroeconomic policy, the government decided that new power stations must be built by Black empowered businesses.

AA and BBBEE is the root cause of everything that has failed in this country.

BBBEE itself has first and foremost always been an enrichment scheme for connected people.

Let's be honest the NP never prioritised getting electricity to all of SA, let alone townships and rural areas (I grew up without electricity from Eskom until the early 80's). The ANC made a point of providing reticulation everywhere but also used it, and electricity supply, primarily as a conduit to personal wealth for itself and its "leaders".

so is the ANC better in NOT building capacity and infrastructure?
Id think the whistle was sounded Long time ago, nobody woke up and now we sit with load shedding and its nasty consequences for the country,
although I will admire Saffers resilience to "maak a plan"

having said that, its almost the very same "maak a plan" attitude shown by the Ukrainians when their country got invaded, conscripting civilians off the street and not even having enough time to give them uniforms.

a Resilience born out of desperation.

not sure what to make of that, either its desperation, or either its not knowing better.
