Erm... He drives a Porsche. There's no such thing as wasting petrol in a Porsche... ;)

Adam, time to stop wasting petrol and just go straight to TSW for all your needs!! ;)

HiQ were the only place willing to help me out with strange requests - like fitting a test pipe, replacing the axle nuts, etc.... Places and TwT and Superquick said they're not interested...

Crap man, I have been changing wheels and tyres for ages. I have a torque wrench but hardly ever use it especially not on wheels. And I have never had any problem what so ever. But I didn't drive a GT3 :p

EDIT: The torque setting are important im told if i track the car ... otherwise not ...

Well I don't mind.

But since you are driving a Porche you might need it more than just every other year. Might as well go buy one. But get the Gedore one ;)

i think that heavy on petrol is relative... i mean we can't expect that an engine that has a 3.6 L engine to use the same fuel as a 2L engine

That's a good rule of thumb. If you don't intend to push the car to the limits, your settings are not as important.

Wheel shudder at 120km/h on a Porsche would be VERY concerning.

True. I have changed many, many wheels. I have never ‘torqued’ one in my life.
Torque = tight. Anything else is wussy pretension, enriching German ‘mechanics’ with a totally unnecessary procedure. What crap!

LOL. As true as that might be, engineering does have specific design limits. You might be putting more stress on your wheel hubs and mags that you need to, or be bordering on losing your nuts (hehe), but that doesn't mean it would fail in any obvious fashion.

120N.m is about 50kg of force on a 25cm fulcrum, so it's pretty tight. But you wouldn't want to be hit with a wheel nut flying off a 300km/h car?

Kinda like a spring coming through your helmet...
