Um a legal one you cant get. So its time to play the same game on these bastards. Shoot first and dump the body. If the government wont do anything about it then the people will. I have no problems blowing some ones face apart once they break/attack/mug/hijack me.

Brain matter can be the latest tend in house design.

Wow what has the **** hole done to me.

What's wrong with a legal one?

Very simple! even for the low intellects to understand. If I have a legal gun, if at all I can get it licensed, which could take up to a Year+ and still be denied! I will get placed in custody for shooting a criminal as we saw so many times on this forum news! My skin colour and unfortunate group inheritance would not do me any favours either! So the logical thing is to shoot the b@stards to kill and so protect the family and then mark the gun with the story that I wrestled or grabbed it of the culprits and used their own weapon against them!

Great idea!

Mind you, I would also like an AK-47, just for some added fun.

So two wrongs make a right. Typical Right wing garbage. Can't you dork's like immegrate to some island or something and take your pathetic "I want an ilegal gun" cr@p pycology with you. Ten to one the reason these guys were looking for the safe was because they believe we are all armed....that's why we make ourselves even bigger targets.

Guns are k@k and should be banned outright. That's why you have police and armed response. You know how many people are actually killed by their own guns !! Puhlenty. Homeowners guns are the highest cause of deaths in SA cos in most cases they are used on the owners!!!

So now we are openly advocating breaking the law on this forum but hey guess who is first in line to moan and whinge about crime in this country and repost stories about it ???.

Nice move Pupa ... talk about being a hypocrite :).

Typical Left wing garbage ;) You have a point but it is why gun owners must be PROPERLY educated! I am definately not gonna be caught standing with my d*ck in my hand when a sneaky fella breaks in, I'd prefer a gun, if he takes it off me, good on him, if he doesn't, bury him, at least it was a fair game!

Well thank you for taking the time to imply I have a low intellect.

You're going to get nabbed regardless of who's gun you shoot the criminal with - killing someone is supposed to be as a last resort. Fact is you stand a better chance of getting nabbed for an illegal gun, especially if your going to carry it for self protection, as I do with either of my licensed pistols.

Fact is you'd be justified shooting someone who pointed even a realistic looking water pistol at you - that doesnt take a person with higher intellect to figure out.
Homeowners guns are the highest cause of deaths in SA cos in most cases they are used on the owners!!!
You have some stats to go along with that?

.

Does "either" imply two pistols? You carry two, is it maybe one on each hip? Hay hay, it's Clint Eastwood day, but seriously do you wear a Stetson? Maybe some spurs, what your horse's name? ;)

lol - no, not John Wayne either :p

My .45 is a bit bulky to carry all the time so I have a smaller, easier to conceal .380.

Your language, spelling, grammar and arguments shows with what we are dealing here. Passed any grade at any known institution, have you?

With your inflated opinion do you prefer to take a knife to a gunfight?

Tell your police protection story to some one equally qualified than you. Just the two of you will believe it.

Just seconding this.... Noone has the right to complain about crime whilst committing crimes themselves.

If you can't get a gun then the new checks are working. Everyone I know who wanted a gun applied for one and got one. If you can't get past the Psych test then maybe you shouldn't have one.

Pupa: I am suprised you are asking us how to get a gun, didn't you know the CBD is riddled with arma dealers, just go in and ask anyone on the side of the road for one.

So what do you do while waiting for your "armed responce" / "police" to show up? Make the criminals some tea? And why would you entrust your life to people who is more poorly paid than the car guards? I'd rather get a gun and defend myself. (previbly legal gun :D)

Morons and incompetents find all sorts of ways to get themselves killed. Helps clean out the gene pool.

The police are there to enforce the law, not protect us.

How many is 'Puhlenty'?

Guns, Guns, Guns!

While I understand pupa's argument - I think it is rubbish. Owning an illegal gun just makes you a criminal as well - your standing in a court of law will be even less than if you own a licensed arm. To add to that, to complain about law breakers while yourself proposing to break the law is truly hypocritical.

That having been said, the gun laws are far from ideal - they aim to disempower individuals from being responsible fire arm owners. If I were to write gun laws, I would ensure that owners shoot a minimum not maximum amount of ammunition per year. That would ensure that the guns are in a workable state, and that the owners know how to use them.

Guns need to be owned by citizens in order to defend themselves. An unarmed population is a vulnerable one. Think of this yourself, would you more likely break into a house if you knew that the owner was likely to be armed and defend himself?

Of course, the ideal situation would be no firearms, but this situation is in practice impossible in SA. Therefore, in order to keep a balance in power between criminals and residents, residents need to be able to own firearms to defend themselves.

Some important caveats:
(1) No one should own a firearm if they are not prepared to shoot to kill. This is not a toy we are talking about, and owning a firearm can put you in harms way.
(2) The moment you draw, you must shoot to kill, there should be no uncertainty in your mind that you are going to kill, and absolutely no hesitation - otherwise you are a risk to yourself and those around you.

No person should ever contemplate owning a firearm for self-defence purposes unless they are absolutely sure that they will do this.
