Though if you go to any large institution to be the executor of your estate they would charge the same percentage, unless you have a really large valued estate (R5 million+) and can negotiate the 3.5% down?
Thanks for the info

So once signed with FNB, i would assume this can be changed at any time in future?

Still seems like an easy way for a guaranteed 1000 points

True, though you could leave a trusted direct family member/s as the executor who would be able to negotiate the fee to a drastically lower amount once you passed on. Still many better value options in my opinion to get the 1000 points even on PW. I take your point though if you prefer to use a large institution anyway.

I know this was discussed before, but I'm struggling to find it with a search.

Considering the option to draft a will with FNB for 1000 ebucks reward level points. I recall members here saying FNB took a big cut.

Does anyone have this already? Is there a monthly / annual cost or do they just take a percentage when you die?
No monthly cost etc, done it a while back.

They take nothing at all, because just after you submit your will online, you can draft a new one privately and make that "not valid", you don't have to let them know that you made another will.

There is a way to work around to the FNB will thing I think. Not a lawyer but feel it's legal. Use the will template by FNB and sign and then provide to them. Let's assume it is dated 18 Nov 2018. Then sign a new will with any changes with your choice of executors as you wish, and have it notarized by lawyer. It may cost a bit but then let's say this is dated 20 November 2018. When you pop your clogs, the last will is the valid one and then FNB has no recourse ... But you will get 1000 points every month until then

I think you will most likely sign something that says you have to inform them if there is another one.

What happens if one dies without a will?

Also, is it possible that the second will could be contested by FNB, delaying the next of kin receiving the money?

I'm assuming the 3.5% is fees after state takes taxes?

From what someone told me, you become intestate and the state/govt gets involved and good luck to your preferred heirs getting what could rightfully belong to them..

Yeah so for now I'm doing the will with FNB because if I were to make a family member or trusted person my executor, it's a huge burden and hassle from what I've seen when a grand uncle passed on and even though he he named a third party to handle things, it was done so badly and so drawn out it caused much distress and friction amongst the heirs. I speak under correction though as to how painful it has to be.

I calculate getting level 5 exactly, so think I'll look into spousal account and the will for a bit of a buffer

As Walletdoc stopped supporting Telkom credit card payments, I made use of the EasyPay app for the first time. My DSTV payment went through without a hitch, however my Telkom payment is not going through. After entering the online PIN, it just hangs there, "awaiting payment". Did anyone have success paying Telkom with this app?
Why dont you just pay from the Telkom website? It counts as online spend.

Bought some Dischem vouchers using the app and been in pending status for the last hour.

Never had this before. Anyone else able to buy Dischem vouchers?
Yes I find during weekends and after hours I often get the pending status. It comes right a few hours later. I always purchase before going into the store because of this.
