They charge R300 booking fee for international flights. Local flights, there is some sort of sliding scale on the booking costs - that's at least the way it was when I booked an international multi city flight earlier this year. I booked emirates via ebucks so got 40% off the base rate (not the taxes etc.). You must use atleast R500 worth of ebucks to make part payment on international economy flights.....
If I read that correctly if I use at least R500 worth of ebucks to make part payment on an international economy flight I can get 40% off of the base rate?

How long do I need to be in overdraft for it to count as an ebucks level?
I'm on Gold.

So I applied for a spousal account on PC on the 14th. It's not been two weeks and still no joy. Sometimes FNB are simply tragically poor.

Well, yes but you need to be level 5 - currently applies to KLM and Emirates. The 40% discount also applies to international business class flights but there you need to use R5000 worth of ebucks as part payment. You can get the discount if you booking for immediate family members also if they have FNB bank accounts.

Yeah, also busy trying to get this sorted. At least now at the point where they have sent the SMS requesting permission to link the profiles and responded, going to poke my banker again over email tomorrow if nothing changes today.
They at least respond reasonably quickly over email, but would really have expected this to be easier.

Received all my orders today. Happy for the speed, compared to takealots 4 Dec delivery date.
bit bummed though that I had to pay R250 per delivery, as I got 2 deliveries done, second bite of the cherry.

When can you see the discount? Is it before paying? Do you have to put the flights in your basket before seeing the discount?

At least my banker just admitted she screwed up the application - amazing the difference it makes when one is just willing to own up to their mistakes. Anyway, her little screw up has cost me around R2000 in lost ebucks this month.

i used 100k ebucks to book international flights earlier this year. in hindsight would have got better value keeping them for black friday deals.

because the 40% discount only applies to the Base fare of the ticket you dont really benifit much.
bulk of international ticket prices are made up of taxes which they dont discount.

so normal rand price for the ticket was R13k - with the 40% discount it came to around 11K. so its not really 40% in fact.

That's not cool. You're better off finding a bargain using Scott's cheap flights.

That's bad luck. No chance of spouse scraping l5 without it?

I've received telephonic confirmation from banker that accounts are linked, but is there any way to confirm on the website or the app?

The benefit is on a business class flight - I checked earlier this year and a R30k business class flight was reduced to R20k....
