Are you required to input CVV?

If not, I think it should count as in-store spend.
Has anyone used it on the forum?
You don't input the CVV, but that doesn't mean it's in-store spend. Since FNB already has all your card details, they already have the CVV, and since it uses Snapscan / Zapper / Masterpass infrastructure, I think it will be online. But we'll have to wait and see. I've made a number of payments using it, but I don't know if I'll be able to tell what it was classified as since they were all fairly small.

How often are you using FNB Pay/Zapper/SnapScan to even warrant the effort of going through the hoops just to make it an online payment, if it for say wasn’t one.

I know Zapper and SnapScan are online purchases but even then the odd R500 a month spent on that platform wouldn’t sway me away from using it.

I’m just genuinely interested in what you directly through there that would equate to something substantial? Or is it just to capitalize every eBuck possible?

I wouldn't call it going through hoops in my case. I use zapper where it's supported, as it's generally quicker than a card swipe. IIRC, card swipe earnings are the same as online spend earnings. Makes no difference to me.

I've used it. No cvv.

I'll have to look at statements to see if I can figure out how it's allocated. A bit of a needle in a haystack......

Yeah but online is heavily capped. So swiping is better. For me personally, wherever tapping the card works, is the fastest.

Statement will show up as zapper/snapscan depending on which QR code you scanned. It looked to me like it counted as online. FNB literally directs the spend through the partner of the QR code you scanned.

I used it this weekend but I don't recall any need to add your card or do anything like that which is why I was asking.

Transaction Type is "DEMAND DEPOSIT" and Description as below.

Code : 5250
Description : Pos Purchase Debit Card
Category : Payme
Sub-Category : Electronic Payment

I don't have another regular Zapper payment recently to compare it to.

I’m 100% in the same boat as you. This along with the fact that we attend a few festivals and events during the year and it’s always such a great experience to use Zapper and FNB Pay now rather than handing over my card.

I think my highest spend/use case is restaurants, using it there to avoid giving my card to the waiter or waiting for the card machine to arrive is awesome. That said I would’nt swap out using FNBPay for another system just to count as a another type of transaction.

If you don't mind me asking, where do you see the cap for online spend?

From what I can tell, online + swipes are lumped into one cap of R7500 per month for Gold accounts. I saw this here under the earn rules.

If that is indeed the cap, FML.

If there is any truth to it, you are then supporting the plundering of the PIC.

Eb shouldn’t touch that with a pool pole.

Gold doesn't have an online cap. The online cap is for Premier/PC/PW.

Is your ebucks reward level supposed to get updated immediately on the 1st of every month?

Where do you complain to if you believe your reward level is incorrect?
