Do we earn eBucks according to normal credit card purchase rates (i.e. 2% on Premier) at Checkers Money Market?
If so, I should rather top up a voucher at the Money Market counter to be used for Checkers purchases once I have reached the cap.
Whats the point of this though? Wouldn't you still get the 2% after cap has been reached by swiping your card?

You don't have basic understanding of how the hard and soft caps work, in case of Checkers it's a mere 0.5% after you reach cap.

Some of us have tested it, and found the reality is you get 0% after reaching Checkers cap...

and lets be honest, it is not worth fighting with ebucks support each month to get that fixed.

Can someone clarify this for me please: Yesterday I poured 45 liters of fuel at Engen and paid R700. On the new rules, I earn R4 per liter in ebucks. What does this last portion mean? How much in Rand did I actually earn? R4 per liter gives me an earn of R180 but that sounds excessive.

Yep, R180 worth of ebucks. So 1800 ebucks for that transaction

Regarding the fuel if I fill up with 93 as opposed to 95 how much do I get back?

So 2 dischem vouchers bought via the FNB app seem to have disappeared. Could it be a technical glitch or should I start panicking and query it?

You get same R4 back even on diesel. 93 used as example.

Calculation is a touch more intricate than that. They take the price you paid divided by the current inland price for ULP95 to approximate the litres bought, and then eB40 per approximated litre.

So new rules are upon us.... I think I'll change my PC spending habits as follows:

Fuel - Change from BP to engen (bit of a schlep as there's none on my commute to/from work)
Checkers - Buy groceries Until R3k limit (probably 1 shop :( )
Online - Rates will max this
Normal swipes .. only until capped.

Thereafter the FNB card goes into the pocket and my Discovery card comes out. Groceries at PnP will then earn 6.7% (due to 10x mulitipler) and normal swipes are 0.7%

My calculations show that at least half my usual monthly spend will now go to Discovery instead of FNB.

FNB has screwed everyone over with the new ebucks rules. I feel for the ones who actually rack 1000eb or less per month. It'll be much lower now.

Say a thank you to all those exploiting "loopholes".

I've said it before: enjoy now, cry later.
