What do you guys to do get to level 5 on Premier? Is it difficult?
Agreed. But pretty useless if I can easily reach caps every month. Surely one should reach caps and use other programs/banks for remaining spend?I believe eBuck remains unrivalled, inspite of the rule changes. I'm also grateful to FNB for all the "freebies" I've accumulated over the years, its been great windfall. Jumping through their rule-hoops was worth the effort.
Will I, in the future, jettison to a financial institution that offers something marginally better - gees, i doubt it. I shudder at thoughts of that administrative nightmare. It would have to be something really good - like the eBucks of old. FNB know they already have many of us shackled to them.
Just go to calculator and figure out what you need super easy.
I did...
Easy/straightforward ones:
- Four transactions on the app
- Swipe more than you draw
- Draw more @till than you draw from ATM
- Do the majority of your spend on CC. NO DO YOUR ENTIRE SPEND ON CC
- Maintain a balance of R5000 in the cheque account
- Be on the Islamic account
The problamatic ones (Where tips will be appreciated):
- Spend on your credit card (I'm not going to hit the top end here. Will spot/wcw/slide help?) -> Yes that will.
- Spend some amount online every month (Whats the most minor online purchase that I can make?) buy airtime voucher on takealot for example
- 4 debit orders (But I don't have four... Any tricks for this?) get one, even a small one.
- Drafted and signed a will with FNB as your executor (I'm skeptical about this one. Might hurt in the long run, if they take a chunk as fees)
But if I hit all the above points, I'll be on level 5.
What I want to know is... Do you do something different?

Online, easy to hit R2000 a month.
1. CoolIdeas 100/100Mbit/sec internet is R1250 or something.
2. I always buy stuff online, usually cheap stuff from Alixpress ect for home automation. Building it up piece by piece.
3. If I dont do #2 , then there is City rates + Telkom mobile accounts that will easily get me over R2000 a month.
Then I always have more than R15 000 swipe spend, thats the easiest part to get...too easy if I have to buy parts for fixing cars
/sigh I have too many hobbies.

It was a special in the early days of FNB-Connect. The plan work so well in dual sim phones, that I never bothered to cancel it, and actually use it now.5. R35 debit order for 500GB/month FNB data sim- what is this never heard anything about it

Yes when you die they take a percentage of your estate for handling it. This isn't free...
Yeah, there is.Think it's R200 a year. They collect it for free.
Is it 500GB for 35 rand?It was a special in the early days of FNB-Connect. The plan work so well in dual sim phones, that I never bothered to cancel it, and actually use it now.

Yeah, there is.
Drafting the will = Free
Storing the will = Think it is like R1000 once off forever, or R200 a year.
When executing the will, the fee is the maximum allowed by law. This will be the same at most big institutions.
Now, me and the wife never had a will. So this exercise was to get our first one, instead of having nothing.
Took me 5 months to go through the process, mostly because I had to get the wife to read through all the docs and eventually sign it. She really disliked the idea of thinking what to do when we die =/
That said, you can do this FNB will, then go and do a newer one somewhere else where this fee can be negotiated.
Is it 500GB for 35 rand?
Haha that makes sense. 500GB is too much to ask from FNBLooks like a typo in my original post, 500MB.
