Is my understanding (based on the calculator) that it's utterly pointless spending anything more than the limit at Checkers as it doesn't count towards total spend and there is no lower rate that applies?

That is correct. No extra earn over limit at checkers. It does add to the overall limit but not your swipe limit I.e no earn

RE: 20% of total spend or R1500 cap for fuel on Gold.
Is total spend, the overall total or minus Checkers etc.

Old mutual introduced their rewards program. Its OK. Not great as discovery. But maybe useful for others.

It's basically doing surveys for money. At least you don't have to be client to use it. I do see option of cashing it out to my old mutual account which is nice.

But most of those are once off. If you want to earn continuous points. You need to have products with them then you will earn up to 50% of your premiums back and 5% back your contributions.

Essentially old mutual is similar to a discovery regards to taking up products but the difference is that discovery will still require you to be healthy to receive the maximum benefits whereas your om doesn't. I might get my mom onto om.

Where are you guys seeing the details on continuous earn? I'm browsing the site now but can only see the once-offs and some that seem to "raise your tier" but no details on the tiers themselves.

Press on your tier status on the dashboard.

Won't a once off transfer into your credit card work? So instead of choosing transfer, you chose a once off payment and use your credit card number?

Its still an internal account. You must pay an account (not linked at all within your profile), as easy as that

Ok thanks. Will pay R10 4times into my amex then. Stupid rule really.

Now AMEX is a rewards system I do not understand.
Would you mind giving a break down? Because I tried looking on their website, and I'm more confused than ever...
