Now AMEX is a rewards system I do not understand.
Would you mind giving a break down? Because I tried looking on their website, and I'm more confused than ever...
I never use the amex card. So I'm not familiar with their rewards system. I've had this card for ages and only kept it as my interest is very low on it.

So much easier to pay bills at pick and pay, system is quicker and they only need easypay number, where checkers they need your name and number etc

I'm still not convinced that interaccount transfers are not included in the 4 transactions needed for ebucks points.

Take their advice with a pinch of salt ...

In Feb when I logged in I was offered a revolving credit plan. I thought I might get it for emergencies but not use it.

Got on the app's secure chat and asked the consultant:

1. Is there an initiation fee. Answer "no".

2. If I don't use the facility, i.e. balance is zero, is there a monthly fee? Answer "no".

3. What is the monthly fee if I use the facility. Answer "R58" (or there about).

All three answers were WRONG!

Had a face to face with my banker today. She is also of the opinion that transfers count but she is going to double double check.

On the fusion side it's a no go. Facility is capped at 150k. Not enough. They need to do some more product development on it.

So coming back to my earlier question on fuel spend :

I'm Level 5 and spend R2,400 on fuel (150 litres) - so that R600.00. But the cap below means they stop adding at 125 litres - so only R500.00? Is this cap related to total spending, so one month it could be R1,000 because I haven't spent enough in total?

Refer to the earn rules for Premier...

Engen
  • Earn up to R4/litre back in eBucks for your fuel spend at Engen only, based on the price of inland ULP 95. No earn will be awarded on fuel purchases at any other fuel retailers. For more information on the new fuel earn exclusive to Engen, click here.
  • The amount on which you earn eBucks is limited to 20% of your total monthly qualifying FNB Fusion Premier Card, FNB Premier Credit Card and/or FNB Premier Cheque Card spend or a total rand spend (on Engen fuel) of R2 000 per month, whichever occurs first.
  • You can fill up at any domestic Engen fuel station, but you must pay for your Engen fuel on the Engen forecourt. You won't earn eBucks if you pay for Engen fuel at the Quickshop at the Engen fuel station.
  • A linked FNB Premier Petro Card will also qualify to earn eBucks when you fill up at any Engen fuel station.
  • Note: You'll not earn eBucks on Engen fuel spend above the R2 000 spend limit made using your FNB Fusion Premier Card, linked FNB Premier Petro card and your FNB Premier Cheque Card/FNB Premier Credit Card.

It's quite simple. You are capped at 20% of your total monthly qualifying spend or a total rand spend (on Engen fuel) of R2 000 per month, whichever occurs first. So in your scenario, you got capped at 125 liters or 500 eBucks as you calculated it. If you want to earn more, you will need to upgrade your card to maybe Private Clients where you can purchase up to R2 500 in fuel.(PW gives even more but not many earn that type of income).

Latest from my banker:

6. With regards to the EBucks 4 qualifying FNB app transactions, inter-account transfers are not included in the qualifying transactions. I confirmed this with a consultant at the EBucks Desk, Thulani

This lot really need to get their story straight...
