It does have an effect. Your level and earnings will be calculated on and from when you move to the new account. So this means any spending, etc, on the old account type is lost. That is my experience with moving from Gold to Gold Fusion anyway.

I think it's best to do it as early in the month as possible, that way you'll have plenty time to meet all the requirements, etc.

I was shafted royally. Tried moving to Gold Fusion, got moved to Private Fusion instead. Took two weeks to get back to Gold, and there were still issues after that. So I lost a month as it only took my spending for a few days into account, rather than the whole month. I also dropped to level 4 because of that.
Thanks man appreciate it. Hope I dont have the same issues.

for what it's worth, last year august they came in on the 13th
Which was the Monday after a looong (kind of) week-end, while today is the Monday after a long week-end. Also read so much about batches not running on week-ends, so if we get it tonight, it will be par for the course despite new rules. It is possible we won't get it tonight though.....

I went to the bank around the 20th of July to switch from premier cheque to fusion. When I got home, I realised that I was upgraded to PC Fusion. I went back to the bank the same day and they managed to downgrade me back to Premier Fusion. Which portion of the earn did you lose? Before or after the upgrade.

"Typically" everything should be included with regards to spend. However, on countless occasions the upgrade or change of accounts has always been recommended to the day the ebucks are allocated from the prior month for the lease amount of issues to occur.

Before upgrade. So I lost the entire period of my gold cheque and PC fusion days. Only got my Gold fusion period, which was at most a week.

My tips:
1. Switch to Capitec Bank
2. Earn +- 4.5% on your positive balance
3. Pay only R5 bank charges instead of R109
Best move ever, no regrets. On a yearly basis I save R1308 on bank charges and earn +- R3000 on interest, beat that

Yeah, im going to las the R1 000 worth of ebucks every month - that's R12 000 per year (or rather R20 000 a year if you use it for 40% off vouchers or 40% on the ebucks store) to open up a Capitec account....

Edit: Lets also las the 5% to 6% interest rate on cash in the savings pocket.....

What a fool.
I pay about R400 in bank charges, and get back around R1900 in Ebucks each month...
At 40% discount, I get around R3000 in value additional per month.

So who's really scoring? I get a net of atleast R2500 per month for doing nothing really back breaking, and the Ebucks I earn gets me nice to have things I would not waste money on really. Like a coffee machine, TV , PS4 pro, Fitbit, a soundbar, JBL speaker, hell I even bought a picnic bench and bathroom fittings when Makro and builders warehouse vouchers were still around

Basically others banks are just a rip off, why do we need to pay bank charges when they are already using your money to lend others, your money is working hard for them, where at Capitec your money is working hard for you.

I've made more than that in the last two months alone.

I've earned more than R17 000 in the last 12 months, excluding 40% discount.

And rather have my excess cash off R100k sitting in Tyme Bank earning 10% interest.

Best of both worlds.

Beat that!

 I've gained more than from eBucks in a single month. Admittedly not every month, but Capitec's lower fees and interest don't even come close.

+ Free Avis point2point transfers
+ Slow Lounges (Domestic + International)
+ 7.10% interest for Money Maximiser
+ Foreign Currency Accounts

And these are things I really use. Other members find some of the other benefits really attractive. There is quite a bit to choose from.

You are forced to spend big to earn big, we are all not high fliers like you.

Meh. No...

If you think that's how it works, you should just go back to the capitec thread and stop trolling here.

Capitec thread derail. It’s different products for different markets so GTFO.

Please would someone update if/when their calculator is updated?
