I have not checked but I have several debit orders going off against my Credit Card (Youtube, Netflix etc).
It does seem that they are 55days interest free. But someone could double check for us.

If it uses the card number (and expiry date, CVV etc) it'll be up to 55 days interest free. If it uses the account number it'll be a direct debit with immediate interest (unless the account has a credit balance)

You can't. Debit orders can't be deducted against credit cards.
Those monthly payments which can come off a credit card are simply recurring card-not-present transactions
