You can use geo location to verify it immediately.
How would you do it without an existing device?

I just installed it on my iPad and without my phone it would have been neigh impossible, the security is hectic, biometrics from Home affairs, then card number and PIN, then login with online banking credentials, then verify with the existing device.

Yes, rather set up a back up even if the back up phone lies in your drawer.

Problems in what way?
Problems like causing some kind of general profile reset or limitation that extends to the primary phone as well. That would be a major facepalm and pretty disasterous for me if that happened  Which would be as bad as losing the primary and most of us would be up sh|t's creek without a paddle in that situation.

The 2nd phone will have limits until it have been used a few times to do transfers etc. I could not do big amount transfers from app on the 2nd phone.

My wife and I have both our respective profiles on each other's phones. Thankfully the FNB app is designed to allow multiple profiles. That's my backup :)

The bigger question I have, is how many of you use biometrics on your phone to sign into the app. I am thinking of disabling it because it's makes it too easy for someone to hold you up or something and then just use your finger/face to sign into the app to make transactions etc.. In this case, the bank is not going to help me recover my money (if I live to tell the tale)

So i did this on the 2nd device, it said something about i must login on the primary device as well, but before i could get to that part it said 'System Unavailable'. I closed the app on the 2nd device, logged in again and i could get in.

Must i now do a max payment of R300 to someone and then wait 7 days for the 2nd device to be free from limitations?

Arrgh! I didn’t even max out Checkers! Did I really procrastinate on grocery shopping for an entire month??

Not bad 18000, additional checkers cap is really helping i also see at bottom a over cap earn of 0.5%, don't think I had that on PC.

Ok seems I might get 0 ebucks, due to problem with credit upgrade they messed up the balance transfer and somehow there was an overdue amount. Allready had big chat with the private banker about this, but I guess we having another talk tomorow. That's if can get hold of him lol

Yeah, I go through the schlep of putting in the password each time rather than enabling a biometric login for just that reason.

That must've been on sale for like 30mins max which is very frustrating. Checked for deals at 7am, not much was on sale, checked again at 08:30, still not much. Suppose you just need to be lucky and online in that sale window
Or join one of the whatsapp groups so that you get notified quickly when the items go on sale :D

They might if it was a crime and you can provide proof (i.e. you open a criminal case at a police station)

Via the FNB app using credit card.
Snapscan app.
Easypay.
I've used the FNB app with credit card as well as with my cheque card. Seems the credit card charges R2.70 in transaction fee but the cheque card doesn't (at least not yet). While convenient, I don't think this will count towards ebucks earned on general credit card spending (but I may well be wrong).

How do you buy prepaid using snapscan? Is there a QR code to scan for Tshwane, or is it simply a built-in function of the app? Any fees charged?

Hmm sure it is a risk but you are ****** either way. If they have enough time to do transactions etc they might as well force you to provide the password or pin code to your card. I rather keep my daily limits low and use the convenience of biometrics. They are unlikely to use transfers but rather ewallet or prepaid type transactions, which are daily limited anyway.

There is a 'Prepaid' option on the Snapscan app. Enter meter no and buy.
Don't think they charge a fee..

So I just got "upgraded" to a prepaid electricity meter (in pretoria). Anyone know the best / easiest way to buy prepaid units online, whilst still getting ebucks? You can buy in the FNB app, but I'm not sure if that qualifies as a "swipe" on the credit card.

If you buy from the FNB business app you get 15% back (don’t waste your checkers spend!)
