My 2c on the BF deals in general:

I have no complaints about the number of items or what was in stock. There were plenty of deals to be had. If you missed out it was because *you* missed it, not that it was non-existent. Off the top of my head there were:

Wearables (I bought one)
Xiaomi products, including cellphones and Robot Vacuums (I bought one)
TVs
Playstation 4 bundle/Controller/Games
Xbox Series S
Soundbars/Speaker boxes
Apple products (iPad, iPhones, Watches, Apple TV)
Quite a few Samsung cellphones
Household cleaning products
Personal care products
Nappies/Baby wipes
Household appliances
Kitchen appliances
DIY appliances
Headphones (although not the Sony XM3/XM4 sadly)

I wanted a smartwatch and a robot vacuum for a long time and I got them both. Really difficult to complain about it.

The issue with it being dragged over 20 days and being loaded at random times is definitely something you could complain about... and maybe we all should. If they receive a batch of emails all with a simple complaint about how the deal rollout was implemented, maybe it would be enough for them to take action next year?
I would say FNBs behavior was intentional. The fact that it was randomly timed made more people stay on the site and possibly spend more. So our emails sure won't hurt, but in my view is something they don't care

Definitely intentional. I'm waiting for the press release where they say "We had one trillion requests to our server across 20 days" or something like that.

I suggested emailing as there were a few people that felt hard done by the random timing and if they want to complain based on that... they should.

It also gives everyone a chance to purchase instead of scalpers who buy to resell.

So its actually better spread out if stock may be an issue.

Hi guys. On Checkers spend, on Gold, does the R1750 cap need to be within the first R7500 of your spend or can you max it out at any point in the month?

Does smartspend include checkers within cap and online purchases which already attract their own Ebucks?
Or is it separate from those spends and in store only

Smart spend includes online and checkers spend. Not sure what you referring to online spend that attracts its own ebucks. One no longer gets a % for online or in store spend unless it's for an ebucks partner.

Smart spend is all swipes. From fuel to checkers, normal and online

What I meant is that Checkers 15% earn max is 10k for PW but will that also get smart spend Ebucks over the 15% ?

Hi guys. What’s the purpose of the 1st rule below? And what’s your understanding of rule 3? Thanks

Shopping Spend

In-store and Online eBucks partner spend

  • The amount on which you earn eBucks is limited to a total monthly Rand spend (on qualifying card swipes only) of R7 500 on your qualifying FNB Fusion Gold Card, FNB Gold Credit Card and/or FNB Gold Cheque Card.
  • Your FNB Fusion Gold Card/FNB Gold Credit Card spend is considered first toward the spend limit.
  • Where you earn eBucks on qualifying earn category partner purchases from partners such as Checkers, Engen and Clicks, your in-store and online spend at these partners will not be included in your qualifying in-store and online partner spend.

Not answering your questions directly but let me tell you how i earned 28677 ebucks for Nov/Dec.
So i earned 4500 ebucks (for R 3000 spend at checkers, used R 5000 total but only earned for up to R 3 000) Checkers spend is R 3 000 max (for me).
And 15000 ebucks for using my credit card R 52 000 which included R 5000 checkers and R 4 000 engen fuel.
Hope this helps some...

So I was denied reward level 5 by 500 points. On my credit card statement Netflix shows as coming off on the 30th of November. Apparently, according to FNB it came off on Netflix's side on the 1st of December. I'm unable to comprehend how I'm supposed to control Netflix when it has not been an issue for months. I have subsequently changed the debit order date for Netflix but it seems ridiculous that FNB actually doesn't reflect properly for the end user.

My Netflix d/o also went off on 30th and cleared in the new month. Best to have a buffer.
